Island nightlife: Where to ring in the New Year?

Can’t figure out what you want to do on New Year’s Eve? Check out some of the events below from the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce and The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel:
The Sanibel Recreation Center is hosting the 5th Annual “Kiss 2013 Good-Bye” Celebration from 8 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Advance tickets are $12 for youth and $15 for adults (18 and older), and tickets at the door are $15 for youth and $20 for adults. Children under 6 are free. Purchase tickets at the Sanibel Recreation Center at 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Road or by calling 472-0345.
The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is hosting a “New Year’s Eve Gala” from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 1451 Middle Gulf Drive. Tickets are $150 per adult with chef-selected wines, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Live entertainment and dancing with Danny Morgan’s five-piece band. The Thistle Lodge Beachfront Restaurant is hosting “New Year’s Eve 2013” from 5-10 p.m. including a five-course menu and live entertainment through midnight at 2255 West Gulf Drive. For more information, visit thistlelodge.com or call 472-9200.
The Blue Coyote Supper Club is hosting “New Year’s Eve 2013 Coyote Style on Tuesday night. The celebration is $75 per person and includes a five-course meal. The Sanibel Harbour Princess is hosting a “New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruise” from 6-8 p.m. with starters and entrees. The cruise is $80.76 per person ($110 inclusive of tax, gratuity, and port fees) and leaves from the Sanibel Harbour Marriot Resort & Spa at 17260 Harbour Pointe Drive in Fort Myers. The Princess is also hosting a “New Year’s Eve Late Night Cruise” from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with a glass of champagne, party favors, hats, and noise makers. The late night cruise includes appetizers, entrees, and dessert.
Traditions on the Beach is hosting a “New Year’s Eve Gala” with Joe McCormick and the fabulous Marvilla Marzan. Traditions serves delicious casual Italian and Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist, and is located at the historical Island Inn on West Gulf Drive.
The Herb Strauss Theater at BIG ARTS is hosting a special New Year’s Eve showing of the Holiday Spectacular at 7 p.m. The fun-filled musical performance transforms the stage into a glistening winter wonderland. The 17th Annual “New Year’s Even Celebration” starts at 7 p.m. with live music culminating with fireworks from the pier and a ball drop. The free celebration is at 1031 Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach.
The 17th Annual “New Year’s Even Downtown Countdown” starts at 8 p.m. in downtown Fort Myers with live music on multiple stages, Florida’s largest conga line, a craft beer garden, ball drop and fireworks at midnight. There will also be a Kids Zone feature bounce houses, slides, anymore. Admission to Downtown Countdown is free but preferred viewing and VIP tickets are available.
