The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary club recently presented Capt. John “Giddy Up” Bunch (left), founder of “Operation Open Arms,” with a $1,000 check for the continuing good work his organization does to provide opportunities for social engagements in Southwest Florida for our active service men and women. Southwest Florida has become a popular leave destination for U.S. troops seeking to arrange a visit. Operation Open Arms has provided free resources to more than 1,900 troops and their families since 2005. Rotarians John Grey and Tony Gropp (right) made the presentation.
