Auction Baskets in Bloom for 20th Anniversary of Shell Island’s Garden Club

Although this one has been customized for appeal to pet lovers, it is only one of many themed baskets up for grabs during the upcoming auction and 20th Anniversary Celebration of The Shell Islands Garden Club.

The Shell Islands Garden Club will celebrate a 20th anniversary party that ultimately helps the local bike club as well as wildlife and conservation causes through the auctioning of very special gift baskets club members have been busy assembling in recent weeks.

Baskets are bountiful and customized to cater to all interests, be it art or sports, and (almost) everything in between.

Local artists Deborah Butler, Daphne Hammond, and Jane Hudson have donated original paintings to the auction. Myra Roberts has donated two prints from her original artwork as well as a Studio Tour. Local businesses that are participating include Chico’s, Floral Artistry, R.S. Walsh Landscaping, Planet Fitness, Beach View Tennis Pro Shop, Pandora’s Box, Rene’s Fine Jewelry, MacIntosh Books and Paper, Norris Home Furnishings, The Fly Shop, Sanibel Home Furnishings, Forever Green Ace, J. McLaughlin of Naples, Bromeliads by Judy Hicks, Flower Shop of the Islands, Gulf Gourmet, Sanibel Olive Oil Co., SCCF and Seaside Grounds Landscape.

The Shell Islands Garden Club 20th Anniversary Party & Auction will be held on January 9, 2012 at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Hospitality Hour with appetizers & desserts made by Garden Club members will take place from 5:30 to 6:30, Auction starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by door prizes.
