Luminary at Sanibel Community Church

2 min read

Luminary night at Sanibel Community Church is no ordinary spectacle, with all the lighting and the praise and special music on the stage. Happenings include a Christmas Carol sing-along, Praise Team selections, and presentations from the Summit pre-school and Logos children. Among the special musical highlights are soloists Bob Boling and Evan Rapalski; trombonist Ben Blycker,;and the fanciful piano playing of Hannah Czoski. Children as well as adults will enjoy a petting zoo, and wonderful cookies and other treats.

SCC’s Sanctuary will be converted into A Walk Through Bethlehem, a living theatrical experience with tours of shops that might have been found in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth. All this makes Luminary very special as we celebrate Emmanuel God coming into the world through Christ, the Light of the world! The celebration begins at 6 p.m.

SCC’s Women’s Guild will be presenting the annual Holly & Ivy Bazaar also on Friday, from noon to 9 p.m. The ladies have been very busy handcrafting beautiful items for sale at the Bazaar, including many hand-painted ornaments. A Holiday Boutique will feature many new items and jewelry. The Baked Goods tables will provide a chance to purchase homemade goodies, including buckeyes and premium bagged pecans this year. Fudge and assorted candies and roasted nuts will also be available. The theme of Holly & Ivy provides a chance to decorate Fellowship Hall with wreaths and lighted trees, which will again be available for purchase. In addition, the Bazaar will feature a Silent Auction.

SCC welcomes your participation on Dec. 2. Sanibel Community Church is located at 1740 Periwinkle Way, next to Jerry’s.
