Sanibel’s annual Street Resurfacing Project begins Monday
The City of Sanibel’s Annual Street Resurfacing Project will commence Monday, Sept. 19. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to the public. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times. The public is reminded to use caution when traveling through a construction zone.
The following streets are included in this project:
East Gulf Drive (Lindgren – Nerita)
Nerita Street (E. Gulf Dr. – Middle Gulf Dr.)
Middle Gulf Drive (Nerita – Fulgar)
Fulgar Street (Par View – Middle Gulf Dr.)
Middle Gulf Drive (Fulgar St. – Casa Ybel Rd.)
Casa Ybel Road (100 feet south of Periwinkle- Middle Gulf Dr.)
Casa Ybel Road/W. Gulf Drive (Middle Gulf Dr. – Tarpon Bay Rd.)
Rabbit Road (San-Cap Road – Box Culvert)
Every year, the city resurfaces selected roads based upon a time schedule and existing condition. This year’s road resurfacing contract amount is $702,028.25 involving full-width resurfacing of eight streets and several miscellaneous small paving projects. The contractor is required to complete the project within 45 days.
