A Fort Myers resident remains in custody on Wednesday after being arrested last week, charged with committing lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16.

Marvin Charles Bradley Jr., 22, of Fort Myers, was arrested on June 15 and booked into the Lee County Jail on the felony charge. Bond has been set at $50,000.

According to the arrest report, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on March 29 with details regarding a possible sex crime, which allegedly occurred at the victim’s home in Fort Myers.

Deputy Sheriff John Rodriguez of the LCSO’s Special Victims Unit contacted Child Protective Investigator Leo Spears, assigned to investigate the incident by the Florida Department of Children & Families. Spears subsequently made contact with the complainant and the victim.

On April 6 at The Children’s Advocacy Center in Fort Myers, a forensic interview was conducted with the victim, who alleges that she and Bradley had engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship over approximately three months.

Rodriguez prepared and sent a warrant request to the State Attorney’s Office, charging Bradley with violating Florida State Statute 800.04 (4A) Lewd and Lascivious Battery, which prohibits a person from engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a victim 12 years of age or older, but less than 16 years of age. The warrant was issued on June 14.

Bradley has a scheduled court date of Monday, July 18 at 8:30 a.m.
