Women’s Legacy Fund Spring Luncheon returning to Sanibel Harbour
Women of philanthropy will gather at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation’s Fifth Annual Women’s Legacy Fund Spring Luncheon Friday, May 13. The luncheon will take place at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, located at 17260 Harbour Pointe Drive in South Fort Myers from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“This event is a great opportunity to learn more about the Women’s Legacy Fund and meet other like-minded women who care about their community,” said Julia East, president and CEO of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
The luncheon will include a report by last year’s grant recipients on the impact of their Women’s Legacy Fund grant and an announcement of this year’s WLF grant recipients who are focused on homeless issues in our community.
The newest WLF Angels will also be announced during the event. The Angel honorary designation is for mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters, grandchildren, friends and other loved ones, either living or deceased, who have had a special impact on the lives of those around them. WLF members can make the special women in their lives a WLF Angel with a minimum contribution of $1,000 in their name.

The Women’s Legacy Fund is a fund of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, created to enable women in Southwest Florida to direct their giving in focused, strategic ways. The fund’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Southwest Florida through a woman’s perspective.
In just three years of existence, the WLF has grown to more than 70 benefactresses and has been able to provide $37,000 in grants to benefit people and communities in Southwest Florida.
The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has been supporting the communities of Lee, Charlotte, Glades, Hendry and Collier counties for 34 years. With assets of more than $60 million, the community foundation has provided more than $48 million in grants and scholarships to the communities it serves.
