Local student wins Sanibel Day Spa Earth Day art contest

On Monday, Sanibel Day Spa announced the winner of its Earth Day Coloring Contest – island resident Haley Kelly. For the contest, which was sponsored by Onesta Hair Care, children in grades K through 8 needed to create drawings of what Earth Day means to them.
In addition to having her artwork on display at the Day Spa and published in the local papers, Haley wins a Princess Spa Party for herself and four friends (a winning boy would have been entitled to a Mini Gold Outing with four of his friends).
“We had a lot of fun working with the kids on this,” Sanibel Day Spa owner Pam Attuso said. “We received quite a few excellent and creative entries – it was hard to pick the best one.
“And Haley was delighted with her award. She, her mom, and her friends are working on scheduling the Princess Spa Party as we speak – you can imagine how hard it is to get a time and date when four young ladies can get together … no different for sixth graders than for 10th graders!”
This promotion went hand in hand with the Sanibel Day Spa’s Onesta promotion. Onesta is an all-natural, very earth and environmentally-conscious hair care company. The company has an “Earth Day Duo” for $28: a super conditioner with a free eight-ounce shampoo valued at $12.50. With every Duo sold, the Onesta Green Team plants a six-inch Norway Pine.
Onesta Hair Care was developed as an alternative to products that use potentially harmful chemicals in their formulas. All of Onesta’s products are free of parabens, sulfates, proplylene glycol, DEA, TEA, artificial colors and dyes, animal ingredients or animal testing.
