‘Inside Job’ to be screened at Democratic Club meeting
The Academy Award-winning 2010 documentary “Inside Job” will be shown at the Thursday, April 21 meeting of the Democratic Club of the Islands at the Sanibel Public Library, 770 Dunlop Road. Because this is a feature length film, the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Director Charles Ferguson delivers a forensic study of the worldwide financial crisis through interviews with the key players on Wall Street and in Washington, including Eliot Spitzer, Barney Frank and more. Matt Damon narrates. Described as the most “lucid and straightforward cinematic rendering to date of the 2008 financial collapse” and its continuing after-shocks, this is a first rate all-in-one interview. It doesn’t get much better than this. There have been plenty of books, articles, and movies about the financial meltdown and what led up to it, but this is your chance to view its impact in a powerful presentation.
Popcorn and soft drinks will accompany the film and even a chance to discuss its current implications for those willing to stick around and engage.
The meeting is open to the public free of charge.
