San-Cap Republican Caucus to hear Sanibel Mayor

The City of Sanibel’s Mayor Kevin Ruane will speak to the Sanibel-Captiva Republican Caucus on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Sanibel Public Library, located at 770 Dunlop Road, in Meeting Room #4. The public is invited to attend.
The Mayor’s topic, “The State of the City,” will present the challenges for Sanibel today and a look at the future of our unique island city.
Ruane’s background involved accounting and taxation and his corporate career responsibilities included managing, budgeting and finance. The Mayor’s community commitment is lengthy and varied: Save The Children, American Cancer Society, President of The Sanibel School Fund and board member for The Sanibel School Advisory Committee, to name a few. Ruane also served on numerous boards and has been an advocate for Support For Homeless Women Shelter.
Ruane has been a Sanibel City Council member since 2007 and was selected by the City Council as Mayor in 2010-11. On March 15 of this year, Ruane was re-elected by the City Council to continue his service as Mayor for 2011-12.
The Mayor and his wife, Doreen, have two children, Shannon and Kevin, Jr.
