Seventh Annual ‘Under The Sea’ fundraiser will be a ‘fun-raiser’ for all

2 min read

“Under The Sea,” The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum’s annual fundraiser, will be held at the museum on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m.

The evening will begin with a silent auction, cocktails and appetizers. As guests begin to enjoy their meal catered by Elias Brothers a live multimedia performance, “Painting Out Loud,” will begin. During the show, artist Leoma Lovegrove will paint a large museum-quality canvas. Music, lights, and over-the-top special effects are part of the show’s magic. Lovegrove will complete and sign the art in less than an hour. The signed art will be sold to benefit the museum.

After dinner, The Hot Flashz will entertain the crowd with a high energy, fun-loving performance. They deliver a unique, high end dance show complete with a variety of costume changes and choreography incorporating jazz, country, Latin, tropical, 50’s and 60’s, rock-and-roll and Broadway tunes.

The evening will draw to a close with a live auction and dancing. The Hot Flashz is a non-profit dance troupe of women ages 45 and up. Their earnings help Florida’s Camp Boggy Creek, a camp for children with life-threatening illnesses.

The grand sponsor for the event is The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. Major Corporate Sponsors include Adventures In Paradise, Bailey’s General Store, Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar & Grille, Lily & Co.
