CCA hosts first potluck of the year

The Captiva Civic Association will continue to celebrate their 75th anniversary with their first potluck of 2011.
“This will be another one of our long-standing, traditional community potlucks that we’ve had for many years,” said Sharon Brace of the CCA. “And because this is our 75th year, that’s the theme we’ll be celebrating.”
CCA members and guests are invited to the Captiva Civic Center, 11560 Chapin Lane, on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
“As in the past, we’ll be providing the main course and this year we’ll also be providing the dessert,” Brace said, noting that the main course will be baked ham and dessert will consist of — what else — some celebratory 75th anniversary cake and other assorted goodies.
As always, attendees are asked to bring some kind of side dish — a casserole, salad or vegetable dish — to accompany the main course.
The entry fee is $5 per person to cover the cost of the main dish and Brace said the CCA would prefer members and their guests call in advance to make a reservation.
