Sanibel shopping centers unite for F.I.S.H. Food Drive
F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service Here) of Sanibel has been struggling over the past six months to keep its food pantry stocked, as a result of increased demand from our neighbors in need.
The upcoming holiday season is a particularly hard time for many island families and, in true Sanibel community spirit, five of our islands shopping centers have got together with their merchants and set up a F.I.S.H. Food Drive
Five Sanibel shopping centers – Periwinkle Place and The Royal Shell Companies which include: Tahitian Gardens, The Village Shops, Olde Sanibel Shoppes and Town Center will begin the F.I.S.H. Food Drive on Monday, Nov. 1.
You can bring your non-perishable food items when you shop at any of these excellent shopping centers and place your food items in the F.I.S.H. Food Drive baskets and boxes which will be conveniently located starting on Nov. 1.
To encourage you to make these food donations, each of the centers will be offering you a special thank you. So drop into these fine shopping centers and help F.I.S.H. and their clients at the same time.
F.I.S.H of Sanibel, Inc. is a non-profit, staffed by volunteer organization, assisting Sanibel and Captiva islanders and visitors with a wide range of services. For more than 29 years, it has been a “neighbor helping neighbors” by offering a range of human services including:
