Congressman Mack to speak at San-Cap Republican Caucus meeting

Congressman Connie Mack has agreed to speak at the Sanibel-Captiva Republican Caucus meeting on Saturday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in Room #1 of the Sanibel Public Library, located at 770 Dunlop Road.

Congressman Mack will give an update on major issues facing Congress this year, as well as issues affecting Florida, Lee County, Sanibel and Captiva.

Elected to his third term in the United States Congress in November of 2008 to represent Florida’s 14th Congressional District, which includes Sanibel and Captiva. Mack currently serves on three committees — Transportation and Infrastructure; Budget; and Foreign Affairs, on which he is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.

Congressman Mack is a candidate for re-election this year.

Having previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2003, Mack was named Deputy Majority Leader in his second term as a member of the Florida Legislature,

Prior to being elected to Congress, Mack was a business executive with Fort Myers-based LTP Management before becoming an independent business and marketing consultant.

Mack was born and raised in Southwest Florida and is a graduate of the University of Florida. He is the son of former United States Senator Connie Mack and well-known cancer prevention advocate Priscilla Mack.

Congressman Mack is married to U.S. Rep. Mary Bono Mack and resides in Fort Myers.
