Zonta announces ‘Seven Chances at the Unique’ raffle
Excitement is mounting for the Ninth Annual “A Peek at the Unique,” the home tour that is the principal fundraiser for the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva, set for Saturday, March 13.
This week, the club announces “Seven Chances at the Unique,” the popular raffle that boosts the funds the event generates to advance the status of women.
Each year the prizes are – if not unique – certainly highly unusual. Here are the raffle prizes for 2010:
Waterwoman Adventure: Join Captain Louise Alt and “First Mate” Darla for an island-hopping excursion for six, a delicious picnic lunch from Sanibel Deli and Coffee Factory, and a gift certificate from Island Girl. Value: $500.
Southwest Airlines will again offer two roundtrip tickets, valid through April 1, 2011, with no restrictions or blackout dates. Value: $800.
Renowned Sanibel artist Sheila Hoen of Tower Galley offers an authentic, hand embellished giclee on canvas. Value: $1,000.
Vacation in a beautiful tri-level, four bedroom, mountain home in Blue Ridge, Ga., less than 100 miles from Atlanta. This prize is for one week any time from April to September 2010. Value: $1,000.
A special night out in historic downtown Fort Myers, with two tickets to the Florida Repertory Theatre, dinner and overnight accommodation at the new Hotel Indigo, available March-May or October-November 2010. Includes a gift certificate from Rene’s Jewelers. Value: $500.
Grandparents will delight in shopping at Nanny’s Children’s Shoppe, with unique clothing, books and gifts. Certificate value: $500.
Sanibel artist Maria Denk has designed a one-of-a-kind treasure: a starfish on a chain in 14k white gold with aquamarine drop. Value: $1,900.
Tickets at $10 each or six for $50 will be available from any Zonta Club member after Feb. 3. Tickets will also be on sale at island locations on weekends prior to the event; dates and locations to be announced. Drawing takes place at the end of the tour on March 13 and you do not have to be present to win.
