The United Way 211 Storm Information Hotline will be hosting a volunteer training on Friday, June 26 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades, located at their headquarters at 7273 Concourse Drive in Fort Myers.

Anyone interested is encouraged to register and attend. The training is an opportunity to learn how the United Way 211 Storm Information Hotline operates during a natural or man-made disaster and how to help.

Presenters include Lee County Emergency Management’s Chief of Planning Gerald Campbell; Lee County 911 Program Manager Matt Rechkemmer; United Way 211 Operations Manager Kelly Guelcher; and United Way Volunteer Center Manager Kim Berghs.

The hotline is a partnership between Lee County Emergency Management, Hendry County Emergency Management, Glades County Emergency Management and The United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Volunteers are trained to assist with answering storm related calls. Hours are flexible.

Those interested must register by e-mail to kelly@unitedwaylee.org or by phone to Kelly Guelcher at 239-433-3900 x 242.
