Sanibel students donate food to Franklin Park Magnet School
Last week, Bailey’s General Store and the students of The Sanibel School partnered to donate nearly 400 bags of food for students at Franklin Park Magnet School in downtown Fort Myers, who may not have enough to eat during summer break.
The Sanibel School students collected food from customers at Bailey’s. For each voucher purchased, Bailey’s supplied one bag of food – enough to feed a family of four for several days.
About 94 percent of students at Franklin Park receive free or reduced lunches. Many of those students do not know where their meals will come from during the summer months.
On June 9, several Bailey’s employees and the parents of The Sanibel School students packed nearly 400 bags of food into their vehicles and delivered the food to Franklin Park Magnet School.
