Brenda and Andy Biddle, owners of Biddles Bucket and Biddle’s Restaurant and Piano Bar, is the first island sponsor to support the New Year’s Eve Party at the Sanibel Recreation Center.

The party, open to the entire community, will raise monies for scholarships for children who enroll in the after-school and summer childcare programs at the Rec Center. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need to support families who work on-Island.

Brenda and Andy Biddle came to Sanibel in 1999. They established (on island) Biddles Bucket, at 2499 Periwinkle Way, and (off island) Biddle’s Restaurant and Piano Bar, at 20351 Summerlin Road in Fort Myers. Biddles Bucket serves American fare, lunch and dinner, throughout the day. It also provides karaoke and video games. Biddles’s Restaurant and Piano Bar serves American cuisine, provides entertainment nightly and a Sunday Brunch.

The New Year’s Eve Party, sponsored by the City of Sanibel Recreation Center and the Sanibel Captiva Kiwanis Foundation, begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009 and ends at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1, 2010.

Party events will include numerous games, raffles for children and adults of all ages and adults-only BINGO games with great prizes. Attendees will enjoy all-you-can-eat snacks, food, desserts and non-alcoholic drinks.

“We are offering sponsorships at affordable levels to our businesses, families and individuals so that everyone has an opportunity to participate,” said event chairperson Barry Alan Roth.
