Aloha Luau Family Fun Night coming Friday
Grab your grass skirts, get ready to do the hula and dance to the sounds of Don Ho!
Join your friends and neighbors for a Hawaiian-style celebration at the Sanibel Recreation Center on Friday, June 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for an evening of exciting fun for all island families.
Island families will enjoy a luau celebrating the end of the school year and raising additional funds for the Recreation Scholarship Assistance Program. Each year, children needing financial assistance to attend the seasonal summer recreation program, after school recreation program and fun days have relied on individual donors and the city to bridge the gap so children can attend these programs. The City of Sanibel provides a top-notch facility and caring counselors to aid in the child care needs of the community.
Special events are planned for the evening including luau games, music and special food and drinks. Middle School students will have their own party during the festivities. Parents will enjoy swimming and playing fun games with their younger children. Everyone in the community is encouraged to come.
Admission is $10 for adults and children 12 and older who are members and $12 for non-recreation members, while children 4-11 are $5 or $7 for non-recreation members. Please register by Tuesday, June 2 at the Sanibel Recreation Center.
