Sanibel Police Department response time improves
Between 2007 and 2008, the Sanibel Police Department response time has been reduced to 2 minutes, 7 seconds from 2 minutes, 27 seconds.
During the same period, total calls to the Sanibel Police Department from the public increased from 26,076 in 2007 to 32,424 in 2008.
Upon releasing the statistics, Sanibel Police Chief Bill Tomlinson stated “We are aware that every second is critical when responding to our citizens when they are in need of our Department. Our continued investment in technology, such as the computers installed in each cruiser mid-2008, has made it possible for us to respond to increased demand for services and improve efficiency without increasing personnel.”
