Panel to discuss draft language for Captiva codes
The Captiva Community Panel’s regular meeting agenda is scheduled to include further discussions to the draft language for land development code items pertaining to Captiva from Ken Gooderham as well as panel member Mike Kelly.
The Captiva Community Panel will gather on Tuesday, March 10 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Crows Nest at ‘Tween Waters Inn, 15951 Captiva Drive.
At last month’s meeting, Kelly said that a Captiva-specific plan had been approved by the county and that a Captiva-specific code must be completed in relation to the plan.
Kelly also noted that Gooderham had prepared a draft that the two of them – in addition to Paul Garvey and Bob Lloyd of the Captiva Civic Association – had agreed upon, though some language changes still needed to be made.
There will also be an update from Kathleen Rooker, administrator for the Captiva Erosion Prevention District, concerning the recent mandatory beach tilling as a follow-up to the 2005-06 beach nourishment and the status of the reopening of Blind Pass.
If you have any questions concerning the CEPD or any ongoing beach projects, call 472-2472.
Doris Holzheimer of the Captiva Hurricane Preparation and Response Committee is scheduled to update the panel about the work the committee is doing.
