Lily’s to hold jewelry buying event to help Shell Museum
Got unwanted jewelry?
Well one local jewelry business can help you clear space being taken up by tangles of broken gold chains, loose gems and otherwise unwanted jewelry – and all for a good cause.
Lily & Co. Jewelry Gallery Co-owners Karen Bell and Dan Schuyler announced they will hold a “Positively Precious Program” purchasing event on Jan. 16th and 17th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lily & Co. located at 520 Tarpon Bay Road on Sanibel.
“Through this program Lily & Co. purchases previously worn jewelry, stones, and fine stemware from customers for liquidation purposes,” said Schuyler.
During the purchasing event, the public is encouraged to bring in their unwanted diamonds, precious metals, Rolex watches, flatware, sterling over and other items. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum.
Lily’s co-owner, Dan Schuyler is a member of the Museum’s Board of Directors.
“The Museum is pleased that a prestigious member of the Island’s business community has not only agreed to serve on the Museum’s board, but also is dedicated to assisting the Museum with ongoing funding needs,” said Dr. Leal, Director/Curator for the Museum. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Museum to be recognized in the forefront of the business community,” added Leal.
The Shell Museum renowned for its collection of shells and education programs depends on community support to keep afloat.
Schuyler and Bell said they are dedicated to helping the islands out as much as possible.
“Were in difficult times right now and all of these non-profits need support,” Schuyler said. “This weekend is an opportunity for people to contribute and sell their unwanted jewelry.”
