New ownership at West Wind Inn hires Brett Gooch as general manager

West Wind Inn, under new ownership, has hired Brett Gooch as general manager of the Sanibel Island beach resort.
Gooch is responsible for all hotel operations for the inn, and brings expertise in revenue management including rates, OTAs, managing wholesalers and tour operators.
Room renovations and property enhancements are currently in progress at the award-winning resort. Guest rooms on the property have also been refreshed with new paint, and new beds and linens have been installed in the guest rooms.
All guest rooms and studios feature lush views of either the Gulf of Mexico or the landscaped garden.
Studio units have kitchens and are being remodeled with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances, including a refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven.
“I’m very excited to bring my experience to this long-standing Sanibel Island treasure,” Gooch said. “With the improvements we’ve been making to the grounds and guest rooms, we’re maintaining West Wind Inn’s position as the best beach-front resort on Sanibel.”
Gooch is originally from Layton, Utah and graduated with a B.S. in economics in 1999 from the University of Utah. Before joining the staff at West Wind Inn, Gooch worked as a front office manager at Tween Waters Inn on Captiva.
The West Wind Inn has been serving visitors to the island since its doors opened in 1969.
Sitting on 500 feet of shelling beach along West Gulf Drive on Sanibel Island, the West Wind Inn offers guest rooms with garden or Gulf views, a poolside bar for casual fare, and breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Normandie Seaside Pub. For more information, visit www.westwindinn.com.
