Sanibel Neighbors Club donates to island non-profits
The Sanibel Neighbors Club is proud to announce that its members donated $760 over the past year to more than 20 island organizations.
As part of the $15 annual membership fee this season, $5 was donated to an island charity of the member’s own choice.
These organizations included FISH of Sanibel and Captiva, Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation, Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, PAWS, Sanibel Cares, Sanibel Historical Museum, Bailey-Mathews Shell Museum, Sanibel School Fund, Sanibel Public Library Foundation, “Ding” Darling Wildlife Fund and many more. The largest donation this year was made to CROW.
The Sanibel Neighbors Club is a loyalty program for island residents and employees. They offer weekly ongoing promotions and benefits, as well as weekly specials from island businesses.
For the 2014-2015 season, the Sanibel Neighbors Club has decided to make a change in the way donations to the non-profit organizations will be made. Ten percent of membership fees will now go to four local non-profit organizations: CROW, FISH of Sanibel and Captiva, SCCF and “Ding” Darling.
“We feel that these island organizations will get a more meaningful donation from the Sanibel Neighbors Club” said new owner Brian Johnson. “The management of donations to more than 20 organizations was very time consuming and so we decided to choose the four most popular charities for the 2014-2015 season”.
