Update on the construction of SS Hooker’s at Punta Rassa

SS Hooker’s, a fishing inspired restaurant and fish market is well into construction. After overcoming a setback with the discovery that the pilings were 18 inches too short,
they are back on track.
“I’m very pleased that the Lee County building inspector discovered the problem and we were able to redesign and correct the problem before much further construction went on,”
said Sandy Stilwell, owner. “We lost approximately six weeks of season and that is very painful. However, I’m glad to put that behind us and move toward the goal. Far worse had it been discovered later and we wouldn’t have met the elevation guidelines.”
The container of yacht furniture will arrive in a few weeks and it’s moving along. Nora Price is the interior designer, chosen to create a warm and inviting restaurant feel like being in a Yacht Club. The staff attire will be casual.
SS Hookers will be located on Summerlin Road at Punta Rassa overlooking Sanibel Island and the Gulf of Mexico.
This will be the eighth restaurant for Sandy Stilwell, owner and CEO of Stilwell Enterprises and Restaurant Group. Other restaurants include Keylime Bistro, RC Otters, Cantina Captiva, Sunshine Seafood Caf and Wine Bar, Latte Da Coffee & Ice Cream Shop,
Captiva Pizza on Captiva and Sunshine Grille in Fort Myers.
