Island Inn sponsors 2013 Luminary Festival
The Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce today announced that the Island Inn has taken a gold sponsorship for this year’s Luminary Festival Weekend. The 2013 Luminary celebrations will take place on Friday, Dec. 6 on Sanibel and on Saturday, Dec. 7 on Captiva.
“Luminary Weekend is an important event as it brings the entire Sanibel and Captiva community together,” said Chris Davison. “This year it is even more important for the Island Inn, as we have just completed a major renovation program at the Inn and we will be showcasing our beautiful new rooms and suites during Luminary weekend. Playing an active role in the event’s funding seemed like a natural fit for the Island Inn,” he continued.
The Luminary Festival brings illuminated candles to the streets, trees decorated with lights and other holiday trimmings. Santa will delight the children with his traditional visit on his fire truck while making scheduled stops at shopping plazas, galleries, and local businesses that are marked on the Luminary Trail maps. During this time, Sanibel and Captiva visitors and local residents can enjoy live music, entertainment and refreshments for these two magical nights on our islands.
“This is the third year in a row that the Island Inn has contributed to the Luminary Festival and we are truly grateful for their contributions,” said Ric Base, President of the Sanibel & Captiva Chamber of commerce.
