Traditions tackles Turkey Day

Traditions on the Beach, Restaurant, Bar and Lounge located inside the Island Inn, hosted nearly 400 patrons on Nov. 24, for their First Thanksgiving celebration.
Having opened last year on Dec. 24, Traditions was unable to host last Thanksgiving, but this year, the dining room was full of friends and families celebrating Thanksgiving together. More than 180 turkeys were cooked and served, along with countless amounts of stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Guests enjoyed live entertainment throughout the afternoon, performed by Joe McCormick. Celebrating their first year, Traditions on the Beach will be open for dinner on Christmas eve and Christmas Day, as well as a gala event on New Year’s Eve.
Traditions on the Beach, Sanibel’s first dining room, has been delighting its guests since 1895. The restaurant, recently modernized without losing its comfortable Olde Florida charm, serves casual Italian & Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist. The menu captures the sun soaked flavors of the Mediterranean and perfectly complements the spectacular Gulf front setting.
Andrea and his team use the finest of fresh, local ingredients to create dishes with vibrant visual and taste appeal. In true Italian – Mediterranean style, the restaurant provides its warmest welcome for the many guests who return year after year for memorable food served in great surroundings.
Right on the beach, and famous for its spectacular sunsets, the dining room, together with its full bar and restful lounge, is steeped in Olde Florida charm. Traditions On the Beach features live music and entertainment, just right for dancing that rounds off the perfect evening.
