Myers, Brettholtz & Company offers free non-profit seminars

Space is still available for Myers, Brettholtz & Company, PA, Certified Public Accountants & Business Consultants second session on Sanibel in its series of free “Sunrise Quickinars” for nonprofit organizations on Thursday, Sept. 8 at Bank of the Islands.

Focusing on accounting practices and requirements specifically for nonprofits, all the seminars are coordinated with Southwest Florida Community Foundation in partnership with United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades.

“We’ve had requests from our island nonprofit clients to hold sessions on Sanibel so we are excited to be partnering with Bank of the Islands to make this happen,” said Lori Wilson, shareholder with Myers, Brettholtz & Company.

The second session Fraud and Internal Control will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 at Bank of the Islands.

Future sessions include:

Sept. 20 and 22 Budgeting & Cash Flow

Oct. 4 and 5 Functional Expenses

Oct. 18 and 20 Filing Requirements & Reporting to Donors

Nov. 1 and 4 Policies

“Community involvement and volunteerism are integral components of our culture,” said Steve Brettholtz, shareholder in the firm. “We believe giving back to the community and by sharing our expertise in accurate financial reporting, controls, policies, analysis and more, we help local non-profits make sure they are in compliance with donors, grantors and taxing authorities.”

Since 1979, Myers, Brettholtz & Company, PA has been working with non-profit organizations in Lee and Collier counties helping them achieve their goals.

The seminars will last from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at Bank of the Islands, located at 1699 Periwinkle Way. Registration and a continental breakfast will be served at 8:45 a.m.
