Bondurant to speak at ABWA meeting next week
The Sanibel-Captiva Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) invites all members and guests to the monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The meeting will be held at The Community House. Networking/dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:15 p.m.
The September meeting will have two activities: the first will be a head table of committee chairpersons from which all chapter members will have the opportunity to decide on which committee they would like to join. Tasks for all subcommittees have been broken down into smaller assignments so that members can sign up for whatever their schedule or time constraints allow. Our goal is to have 100 percent participation
The second activity planned is the speaker for the month. Mary Bondurant will speak about the importance of team building and why it is important to an organization or business. Mary has been a ABWA member since 2008. She currently is a Realtor for John R.Wood Island Real Estate. She moved to Sanibel in 1997 with her husband and family from Burnsville, Minn. Her previous background covers being a restaurant owner, fitness instructor and a member of the United States Air Force.
To secure your reservation to be a part of this enjoyable evening, please RSVP to Gayle DeHaan-Garland (godehaan@comcast.net/) or call 239-565-7872 by Friday, Sept. 9.
The ABWA, which meets on the second Tuesday of each month focuses on bringing together women of professional and business interests to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. All money raised is used to further the education of women through seminars, conferences and scholarships. The purpose of the networking time prior to the start of the meeting is to build networking skills and provide business enhancing opportunities for Sanibel and Captiva business women.
