Purchase Island Stay & Play raffle tickets, support National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Billy’s Bike Shop is supporting the causes of MS and partnered with two additional island businesses to create a fantastic Island Stay & Play Raffle.
The lucky winner will be drawn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 at the bike shop, located at 1509 Periwinkle Way. Snacks and beverages will be available beginning at noon and door prizes will be awarded every 10 minutes until the winner is drawn. Everyone is invited to stop by to purchase raffle tickets, enjoy some snacks and conversation and watch the drawing of the winning ticket.
The fundraiser is being organized by shop owner and cyclist Salli Kirkland and her teammate Leslie Paris in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid-Florida Chapter’s Citrus Tour.
The Tour, to be held on May 15 and 16, is a two-day cycling event that begins at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, overnights in Orlando and returns the next day. All participants pledge money for MS and have the choice of a 150 or 200 mile route.
This will be Kirkland’s second Citrus Tour and she hopes to top last year’s pledge of $1,150. Kirkland and Paris ride with the Grupetto Team based in Tampa. In 2009, the team pledged $75,000 in MS donations for the Florida chapter.
The Islands Stay & Play Raffle tickets are also available now at Billy’s Bike Shop and Bank Of The Islands and are $5 each or five for $20.
The prize package, valued at $1,000, includes a $500 gift certificate at Billy’s Bike Shop and Segway of Sanibel, which can be used to purchase a new bike, accessories, Segway tours or towards the purchase of a new or used motor scooter. A three-day, two-night stay at ‘Tween Waters Inn and a gift certificate for lunch at The Lazy Flamingo completes the prize package.
