2 min read

The Royal Shell Companies invite you to join us Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Classic Car Show to benefit PURRE.

The show will be located in the parking lot at Tahitian Gardens, 1975 Periwinkle Way. The R+L Racing Team Hauler and Show Car will be there as well.

Sanibel resident Jeff Friedman, owner of Performance Plus in Fort Myers, will have high performance auto accessories on site. Chris Heidrick of Heidrick & Co. will be available to talk to you about classic car insurance. John Nader from The Great White Grill is providing snacks and light beverages with all purchases benefiting PURRE.

Silent auction items received to date include:

Authentic 2009 Daytona 500 caps autographed in display boxes

Men’s and women’s cruiser bicycles

Art image on canvas from Bonnie & Clyde’s Last Ride 1934 Ford V8

Ancient treasure coin

Metal sculpture

In addition, they currently have over 70 raffle items such as:

Oil changes

Car memorabilia

Clocks

Car maintenance equipment and products

PURRE receives 100 percent of auction, raffle, food, t-shirt sales and “Start The Show Car” proceeds.

Two professional photographers will be onsite. Have your photo taken as you sit in the show car. If you are a car show participant a photographer will be available to take a picture of you and your car. A portion of the photography costs benefit PURRE. Photos will be available that day.

Offsite parking has been arranged at Bank of the Islands, located on the corner of Periwinkle Way and Casa Ybel Road. There will be a complementary trolley service courtesy of Adventures In Paradise, running between the bank and Tahitian Gardens. Additional offsite parking is across Purdy Street in the vacant lot. We request you arrive at the event via Sanibel’s shared use path as parking is always a consideration.

A variety of cars and motorcycles have already signed up to participate. Contact Barb at 472-2783 or send an e-mail to barb.harrington@RLRLLC.com to sign up as a show participant. The entry fee is $20. The show is free to the public; donations to PURRE are appreciated.
