Permits for single-family homes nearly doubles

Builders in unincorporated Lee County pulled 39 permits for single-family houses in April, collectively valued at more than $13 million. That compares to 20 permits issued for the previous month and 44 issued in April 2008.

Also in April, permits were issued for two multi-family units, compared to 16 the previous month and 18 in April 2008.

Commercial permitting was valued at more than $2.7 million for six permits in April, compared to $1.1 million the previous month and more than $5.5 million in April 2008.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Lee County.
