City to host public workshop on Adaptation Plan
The city of Sanibel will present an Adaptation Plan Workshop on June 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in MacKenzie Hall (city council chambers) at City Hall, at 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, and via Zoom.
The interactive workshop will be an opportunity to provide input on future strategies, proprieties and solutions that will help protect the island’s neighborhoods, infrastructure and natural systems from climate-related flood impacts.
“Join us for a public workshop to share your ideas and help guide the development of the citywide Adaptation Plan focused on reducing flood risks and strengthening community resilience,” it reported.
The topics to be covered will include:
– Statewide Resilient Florida Program
– Sanibel Flood Vulnerability Assessment
– Adaptation for flood risk reduction
– Community priorities and public input
