The Sanibel FlyFishers will hold its last meeting of the season on April 9 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.

The guest speaker will be club member Eddie Stein. He will talk about some of his adventures, fish caught and fish lost, over a period of 30-plus years. Stein is an intrepid traveler and outdoor adventure enthusiast, who has fished in more than 40 countries. Through his travel company, he has been to a myriad of places, each of which might be called a “trip of a lifetime.”

In addition, club member MJ Provencher will give a presentation on “Know Before You Go.” With the arrival of beach season, it will alert to some of the unpleasant things one may run into while wading.

Also, the club’s General Business Meeting will take place, with a slate of new board candidates.

Pizza and soft drinks will be available for a donation.

In addition, the club will hold a Fly Tying Night on April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sanibel Fly Outfitters, at 2240 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. It will be a general session for tying and talking, with pizza available. Those with vises, tools and materials are asked to bring them.

Both events are free and open to the public.
