Captiva library and county system offering programs
The Captiva Memorial Library, which is part of the Lee County Library System, is offering the following free programming:

The library is open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

ADULT PROGRAMS
– Feb. 5: Online Author Event with Vanessa Riley from 7 to 8 p.m.
Acclaimed novelist Vanessa Riley will discuss her new historical epic, “Fire Sword and Sea.” She is an award-winning, bestselling author whose historical fiction, romance and mystery novels — including “Island Queen” and “Queen of Exiles” — spotlight the hidden stories of Black women and women of color. Riley’s work has earned major honors and praise from outlets such as The Washington Post, NPR and The New York Times. She holds a doctorate from Stanford. The event is part of the Online Author Events Series. Registration is required.
