Captiva fire district to hold Annual Open House
The island community will have the chance this weekend to meet its firefighters and more.
The Captiva Island Fire Control District will hold its Annual Open House on Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, at 14981 Captiva Drive, Captiva. The event is free and open to the public.
“It’s our Annual Open House for the community to come and see the station and interact,” Fire Chief Jeff Pawul said. “And for us to say thanks, cook some food and give back to the community.”
The downstairs area of the station will be open for those who want to tour part of the facility.
“We’ll have all of our equipment on display,” he said.
“The fire engine for the kids,” Pawul added.
The district will also have its new highwater vehicle on site for attendees to see.
Burgers and hot dogs will be provided, along with water and soda.
All ages are welcome.
“Come and go as you please,” he said.
The community is invited to come out and take part.
“It’s a great time for us to meet our community and residents, and for you to meet your local firefighters,” Pawul said.
For more information, call the station at 239-472-9494.
