Junonia found on Sanibel

Craig Thompson, of Carmel, Indiana, found a junonia on Sept. 4 near the Beach Road access point on Sanibel. While at the beach with his family, he spotted it rolling in the waves. Ella Thompson reported that her father has been visiting the island for 15 years and hoping to find a junonia for the majority of that time. “This find was especially meaningful, as it occurred during one of his first visits to his own Sanibel home,” she added.
