After nearly 10 years of service to the voters of Lee County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle recently announced that he will retire from public service and step down from his position on Jan. 14.

“After careful consideration, I have decided that it is time for me to step down and embrace the next chapter of my life,” he said. “It has been a profound honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Lee County as supervisor of elections. I take great pride in the progress our office has made to strengthen voter confidence, modernize election systems, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency.”

Doyle was first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 and 2024. Under his leadership, the office saw enhancements at all levels, including improvements in cybersecurity, the introduction of updated voting equipment, and expanded voter outreach and education programs. During his tenure, the office also saw improved access and services for voters throughout the county, with the addition of a branch office in Lehigh Acres.

“These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of Donna, my wife of 38 years, and the dedication of an exceptional elections team,” Doyle said. “I’m grateful to my staff for their commitment to excellence, hard work, and our shared dedication to serving the voters of Lee County.”
