The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge (DDWS) reported that it received a $5,000 grant from the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club’s Grant Committee. The funding will support the Discovering “Ding” program in partnership with The Sanibel School, which provides students with hands-on, science-based learning at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. It will also help maintain pollinator gardens, complete Ranger Toni’s Nature Nook and provide supplies for student journals, equipment and transportation — ensuring an immersive, standards-based outdoor classroom experience for over 150 students each month. The DDWS extended a special thank you to the club.
