SUNDIAL TO OFFER FIRST RESPONDERS DAYS
The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa will honor local heroes with First Responders Days on Nov. 9-10 on Sanibel, offering complimentary access to its amenities for first responders and their families.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, attendees can relax, recharge and enjoy quality time with loved ones, while taking advantage of the resort’s full beachside and recreation offerings.
First responders and their families will receive complimentary access to: direct beach access, with chair and umbrella service; pool and poolside amenities; kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles; tennis and pickleball courts; and beach volleyball and family-friendly games.
Turtle’s Tiki Bar will be open, serving food and beverages for purchase at the bar and poolside patio.
While both First Responder Days are complimentary, reservations are required.

Those with reservations will need to present their valid work ID upon arrival.

SOUTH SEAS TO HOST EXCLUSIVE WEEKEND
In partnership with Capt. Mike Anderson, host of the Tampa Bay area’s radio show Reel Animals Saturday and the Reel Animals Fishing TV show, South Seas will host an Anglers and Boaters Weekend on Nov. 7-9 on Captiva.
The weekend will include: a “Docktail Hour” reception, featuring cocktails, appetizers, a cigar-rolling station and live music; breakfast at the new Beach House restaurant; guest access to the resort’s offerings and dining collection; a “Puppy Party” on the East Lawn with special treats and toys for pets; and more.
There will also be additional weekend perks, including the chance to win bonus giveaways.
Space is limited to 20 large boat slips and 50 smaller boat slips.

SCBWA TO HOLD MONTHLY LUNCHEON
The Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association (SCBWA) will hold its monthly luncheon on Nov. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
The guest speakers will be Florida Trust Wealth Management wealth services and Fort Myers President Megan Marquardt, wealth services advisor and Senior Vice President Carolyn Rogers, and portfolio manager and Vice President Jodi Schwartzel. They will speak about “Financial and Estate Planning for Women by Women.”
The program will educate and empower women in navigating financial decision-making, legacy planning and long-term wealth protection. The discussion will cover the basics to getting one’s financial and estate affairs in order for all ages and stages of life. It will explore common questions women face when planning for their financial futures, particularly during major life transitions.
The cost is $35 per person and includes lunch.

CFI TO PRESENT LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
The Charitable Foundation of the Islands (CFI) will host “Lessons on Leadership” with David Drews on Nov. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
It will bring together nonprofit executives, community leaders and Leadership Sanibel & Captiva alumni for an afternoon of learning, networking and inspiration.
A Sanibel resident, author and leadership advisor, Drews will share insights from his book “Teamflow,” which explores how teams and organizations achieve extraordinary results through alignment, trust and collaboration.
With more than 30 years of experience leading and growing global organizations, he advises leaders through the Center for Positive Organizations at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Drews is an alumnus of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Since joining the Center for Positive Organizations in 2016 as an Executive in Residence, he has gained first-hand exposure to the pioneering scholars behind Positive Organizational Scholarship.
The program will include an interactive discussion, Q&A, and networking reception with cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres.

KIWANIS HOLDS BUSINESS MEETING
The Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club held its monthly business meeting on Oct. 14.
President Dick Bourdow outlined the club’s mission, recent accomplishments and goals for the year.
Club committees were discussed, with a call for additional volunteers — particularly for the scholarship and communications teams.
The club also announced plans to begin hosting monthly social gatherings to strengthen member connections and encourage new participation.
The meeting ended with a reaffirmation of the club’s focus on community service and youth support.

Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Dorn is a graduate of Estero High School, where he competed in track and cross country and he learned the importance of discipline, desire and dedication. CHR STAFF ATTEND LOCAL CLUB MEETING
Community Housing & Resources (CHR) reported that staffers attended a recent meeting of the America’s Boating Club of Sanibel-Captiva.
They discussed the importance of affordable housing, as well as received a wreath for CHR’s Festival of Trees.
CHR noted that their attendance highlighted the partnerships that it has with local organizations.

The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club recently announced a new member.
Miguel Delgado was recently inducted.
He is vice president of business development at Newport Property Construction.

BONITA FISH COMPANY OPENS ON FMB
The Bonita Fish Company opened on Nov. 3 on Fort Myers Beach as the newest addition to the HM Restaurant Group’s award-winning family of restaurants.
It combines the casual charm of Old Florida life with a modern coastal menu, daily live entertainment, central bar, picturesque sunsets views and dockside dining along the Matanzas Pass.
The Bonita Fish Company serves lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday to Sunday. The menu highlights Gulf-caught seafood and coastal favorites.
It offers brunch every Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., with signature drinks.
The Bonita Fish Company welcomes walk-in guests, and dock space is available those arriving by boat.
It also offers Bayside Private Events, an indoor-outdoor waterfront event venue accommodating plated dinners and standing receptions — one of a few standalone waterfront event spaces in Lee County.
A floating dock marina with 30 to 35 slips and annual leases will open in early 2026.
