Sanibel officer recognized for service

The Sanibel Police Department recently announced that Cpl. James Serrago received a Certificate of Commendation for his heroic work. On Dec. 26, he responded to a 911 call where an infant was choking and not breathing. Upon arrival, Serrago assessed the situation and used his first aid training to perform life saving measures. He cleared the obstruction and the infant began breathing again.
