Registration open for birding cruise
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) and Captiva Cruises will host a Sunset Birding Cruise on Feb. 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., departing from McCarthy’s Marina, at 11401 Andy Rosse Lane, Captiva. While cruising the Pine Island Sound, participants will hear about the ecology of the back bay estuary, learn about the SCCF’s shorebird monitoring program, watch birds come in to roost, identify birds along the way and get updates on the islands’ bird populations. Tickets are $45 per person and $35 for ages 2-12. The proceeds help to support the SCCF’s program.
