Qualifying to open for city council candidates
The city of Sanibel reported that the candidate qualifying period for the Sanibel City Council Regular Election, which is scheduled for March, will begin on Jan. 13 at noon and end on Jan. 17 at noon.
Three seats are up for election to serve four-year terms.
Any elector wishing to become a certified candidate must make an appointment with City Clerk Scotty Lynn Kelly to begin the process by contacting scotty.kelly@mysanibel.com or 239-472-3700. Appointments are available prior to qualifying week.
The Regular Election will be held on March 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The voting locations will be the Sanibel Recreation Center for Precinct 116 and The Community House for Precinct 105.
