The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will present three lectures for the 2025 season.

The first one will take place on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. It will feature Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation Marine Lab Director Dr. Eric Milbrandt. He will provide an update on the area’s mangrove recovery and resiliency in response to large storm events like Hurricanes Charley, Irma, Ian and Milton.

Milbrandt’s research includes water quality, harmful algae blooms and the effects of seagrass and oyster reef communities. His knowledge of keystone species, especially mangroves, is pivotal for the health of the estuaries for generations to come.

No reservations are required.

A suggested $10 donation is welcome and appreciated.
