SCCF to host season’s first Pine Island Sounds
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation will kick off its signature concert series featuring monthly live music events aboard the Lady Chadwick, departing from McCarthy’s Marina.
The first Pine Island Sounds will be held on Nov. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. and showcase The Suitcase Junket. Matt Lorenz’s vision developed in the tension between the grand and the solitary. Grand in its imagery, sound, and staging. Solitary in its thrift and self-reliance. What instruments he requires, Lorenz builds from scratch and salvage. What parts five players would perform, he performs alone.
“We hope you’ll join us this season for an intimate, on-the-water sunset concert cruise thanks to our partners at Captiva Cruises and the incredibly generous Marcums,” SCCF Event Director Jeff Siwicke said. “We strive to curate music from a variety of genres from well-established and up-and-coming artists from around the country.”
Tickets are $125 and include a buffet of light bites and one complimentary drink coupon, thanks to sponsors Jack Thomas and Janie Howland.
The SCCF launched the Pine Island Sounds series in 2019 as a special donor event to support critical research and programs to protect local water quality.
