J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge Ranger Yvette Carrasco joined partner organization representatives to present a session at the Southwestern Museum Conference on Oct. 21-23 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, thanks to support from the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge. Their session, “Unlocking Opportunities: Strategies for Proactive Engagement for Latinx Communities,” brought together over 30 participants. It began with panelists sharing their work in engaging Latinx heritage and communities. Attendees then broke into small groups to rethink Latinx heritage and engagement, followed by a guided discussion on key ideas and challenges that emerged.
