“Despite ongoing recovery challenges, such as no power or working water, FISH is committed to remaining a resource and lifeline for the community in this critical time,” it said.
FISH has set up a Point of Distribution (POD) at The Community House on Sanibel, complete with an emergency food pantry pop-up, ice, water, Publix gift cards, cleaning supplies, tarps, and specialized disaster kits for seniors.
The distribution will take place today and continue until 4 p.m. or until the supplies are exhausted.
“We know how crucial it is to get these essential items into the hands of our community members as quickly as possible,” Executive Director Maria Espinoza said. “Our team is working tirelessly to ensure that everyone who needs help can access it.”
FISH is grateful to partner with World Central Kitchen, which has offered to provide 400 hot barbecue meals for community members.
