ORIGINAL (Oct. 4, 2024):
On Oct. 3, the city of Sanibel reported that Public Works crews are continuing to work to reopen beach parking lots on the island following the impacts of Hurricane Helene.
Bowman’s Beach Park and Gulfside City Park (Algiers Lane) are now open to the public.
The following parking lots remain closed as crews work to remove sand and debris:
– Lighthouse Beach Park (bayside and Gulfside)
– Tarpon Bay Road Beach (Trost lot)
– Blind Pass
– Turner Beach
The city will provide notice to the public as more beach parking lots open.
