UPDATE: Church to hold Blessing of the Animals
UPDATE: Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on Sanibel reported that its Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. has been rescheduled to 9 to 10 a.m. The brief service will now take place at 9 a.m., followed by individual blessings from 9:20 to 10 a.m.

In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, lover of animals, Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church will hold its Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the front courtyard at 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. A brief service will take place at 10 a.m., followed by individual blessings from 10:20 to 11 a.m. All are welcome to bring their pet(s) on a leash or in a carrier, a photo of their pet(s) or a stuffed animal to be blessed. There will also be treats for humans and pets, and a photo booth with free digital photos of owners and their pets. For more information, visit www.saintmichaels-sanibel.org.
