Sanibel fire: Avoid driving through flood waters
At about 10:30 a.m. today, Sept. 26, the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District reported that there is standing water in areas like Blind Pass, Lighthouse Beach Park, along East Gulf Drive and Middle Gulf Drive, and on Bailey Road.
The public is advised to not drive through flood waters.
“We are asking that you avoid driving on both Sanibel and Captiva until the storm passes,” the district reported. “This will avoid any major emergencies that may occur with driving through flood waters.”
